Bangladesh’s readymade garment (RMG) industry remains a cornerstone of the nation’s economy, with key players consistently driving growth and innovation. As we analyze the export performance for the financial year 2023-24, it’s clear that the top garment exporters in Bangladesh continue to dominate the landscape, even as new challengers emerge. South Korea’s Youngone Corporation has once again topped the list, followed by local giants Ha-Meem Group and Mondol Group. Notably, Ananta Group has made significant strides, shaking up the industry rankings with an impressive surge in exports, further solidifying its position among the top garment exporters in Bangladesh.
Youngone Corporation: A Pioneer in High-Value Exports
Youngone Corporation, led by South Korean entrepreneur Kihak Sang, remains at the forefront of Bangladesh’s garment export industry. Despite a reduction in export figures, the company managed to maintain its leadership position by exporting $806.4 million worth of garments. Youngone’s strategy of focusing on high-value, premium garments, particularly for renowned global brands like Adidas, has solidified its standing. With exports reaching 52 countries worldwide, Youngone’s ability to adapt and thrive in a competitive market underscores its influence and expertise in the sector.
Ha-Meem Group: The Leading Domestic Exporter
Ha-Meem Group continues to be the top exporter among domestically owned companies, retaining its strong overall second position. The group’s export earnings reached $586.7 million, showcasing its ability to maintain a significant market share despite a challenging global environment. Ha-Meem’s consistency in delivering quality garments to international markets is a testament to its robust infrastructure and strategic vision.
Mondol Group: Expanding Horizons
Mondol Group has shown steady growth in the past year, with a 5% increase in exports, totaling $500.5 million. The group’s expansion into new markets has been a key driver of this growth, with exports now reaching 71 countries, up from 67 previously. Mondol’s focus on diversification and market expansion has enabled it to strengthen its position within the top tier of Bangladesh’s garment exporters.
Ananta Group: A Remarkable Climb
Ananta Group has made an extraordinary leap into the top ten exporters list, securing the fourth position with exports totaling $465.7 million—an impressive 96% increase from the previous year. This significant growth can be attributed to Ananta’s strategic partnerships with top global brands such as Gap, Marks & Spencer, and Levi Strauss. By focusing on quality and timely delivery, Ananta has successfully expanded its footprint across 58 countries, marking its rise as a formidable player in the industry.
Other Major Players in the Industry
The competition among the top exporters remains fierce, with companies like DBL Group, Pacific Jeans Group, Palamal Group, Beximco, and Square Group continuing to make their mark.
